Psychotherapist Jenny Scanlon, M.Ed, LCPC, EMDR Certified Clinical Consultant and Composer/Pianist/Producer Lesley Spencer, collaborated to produce these "Finding Joy in Living" Creative Visualization Meditations to help people with anxiety, depression and trauma. There are six short meditations and one long composite. Jenny's soothoing narrations combined with the power of Lesley's beautiful acoustic piano music will help you find stillness of being and peace of mind. Listening repeatedly to these meditations will help you relax and experience a state of mindfulness which allows you to find joy in living.
Jenny Scanlon, M.Ed., LCPC, EMDR therapist has over thirty years of experience as a licensed psychotherapist. After graduating from the University of Chicago with double honors, Jenny obtained a Masters’ degree in Counseling at Loyola University, Chicago. Since then, she has worked in hospital, outpatient and private practice settings, as a program manager, clinical supervisor and consultant. Jenny has trained clinical staff, supervised graduate students from Northwestern, Loyola, University of Chicago and other local institutions. In 2015 she was presented with the Gratitude in Giving award which is a peer nominated award given for excellence in clinical practice. While leading therapy groups, she began to create short, guided visualizations to help clients relax and focus so that they would be more grounded and open to the group experience. This led to a collaboration with Lesley Spencer to produce creative visualization meditations to help clients with anxiety, depression and trauma.
Lesley Spencer is a composer, pianist & producer who has worked with the San Francisco Opera, Urban Gateways, Victory Gardens Theater, Radio City Recording, and as a freelance documentary producer. Lesley's music has a strong visual quality that evokes a wide range of emotions from the listener and has been heard on NPR’s nationally syndicated programs Morning Edition and Weekend Edition, Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, Pandora, Spotify, XM and Sirius satellite, Podcasts, as well as many other streaming platforms, and hundreds of public Radio stations in North America and Europe. Her music has also been licensed for a wide variety of creative projects including film, documentaries, videos, websites, and creative visualization meditations. A passionate philanthropist, Lesley has donated thousands of her CDs to many not-for-profit organizations to use both nationally and internationally for their fundraising purposes. Additionally, she has raised over $100,000 for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society by running marathons with Team in Training.
